The piece opens in control. Thin gold lines run vertically and horizontally across deep charcoal, precise and unhurried, constructing a grid that feels permanent. Then, in the upper third, the system fractures. Lines shift angle. Others stop entirely. The disruption is contained, almost surgical, as if a single moment of force passed through and the grid absorbed it before returning to stillness.

Within the broken zone, two ivory rectangles float at slight angles. They anchor the chaos without resolving it, offering evidence of what happened rather than an explanation of it.

The gold and charcoal palette carries material weight on its own, and that weight increases considerably in the premium wooden frame format.
