The Lion’s Eye

Price range: ₦28,000 through ₦46,000

Works in a living room, master bedroom, or home office where the wall needs to hold attention. The amber iris and soft bokeh give the space quiet intensity.

There is a stillness in a lion's eye that no full portrait can capture. This piece gets closer.

The Lion's Eye is a macro study in a single iris filling the entire frame, stripped of landscape, stripped of context, left with only what matters. The iris is a world of its own: deep molten amber layered with radiating filaments of gold, copper, and burnt sienna, each strand catching warm directional light from a golden-hour source positioned upper left. At the centre, a vertical obsidian pupil. At the upper edge, a single catchlight carries a blurred reflection of open savanna, present but unreadable.

The surrounding fur is rendered with the kind of detail that rewards proximity. Individual hairs transition from tawny gold near the orbit to deeper ochre at the outer edges, where shallow depth of field softens everything into gentle bokeh.

The composition asks you to stop and sit with it. Rooms that hold it tend to feel different.
